1. Excursion to Nessebar
Nessebar is one of the oldest cities in Europe. Nessebar is now divided into two parts – the new and the old. The new Nessebar is a modern resort area. Old Nessebar is a medieval city with authentic buildings, where all sightseeing groups are sent. The entire old part of the city is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and is protected by the state. Having come here, you will understand why Old Nessebar is so valued, and why this tour keeps the popularity in Bulgaria.

Cobbled streets, well-preserved churches of Byzantine and Ottoman periods, wooden buildings of the XIX century – all this is a noble Nessebar antiquity, for which thousands of tourists come here. During the tour you will pass almost all the old streets with endless shopping rows, you will see at least ten medieval Orthodox churches. In the local home-made restaurants are perfectly prepared and offer a great selection of wines. From Nessebar, there is a sightseeing train to the neighboring mega-resort – Sunny Beach. Independent tourists should know that you can not drive in by car to Old Nessebar. This is a specially protected area. At the entrance to the old town, there are paid parking lots. It can take 3 – 4 hours to explore the town and check out one of the old Mehanas (Bulgarian pub).

2. Excursion to Sozopol – Ropotamo
Sozopol is one of the main attractions of Bulgaria, an ancient city on the southern coast of the country, 34 km from Burgas. The settlement originated here in the 4th millennium BC. In 610 BC, the Greeks founded the colony of Apollonia on this site. Sozopol is also a city of Russian military glory. During the Russo-Turkish War of 1828-1829 the fortress was repulsed from the Ottomans during a fierce sea battle. Now Old Sozopol is a well-preserved architectural reserve, where several dozen houses from the epoch of the National Bulgarian Renaissance (XIX century, the beginning of the 20th century) were preserved; Also archaeologists have discovered several antique objects: the basement floors of ancient Greek buildings, wells.

Particular attention is drawn to the southern fortress wall and the watchtower, which was open to public display in the early 2000s. In the city, there are several very valuable temples. The most ancient temple of the Holy Virgin is included in the list of world cultural heritage of UNESCO. Sozopol – a very cozy and picturesque town with a warm atmosphere, a visit which will not pass for you without a trace. On the cobbled streets, local residents sell souvenirs, various handicrafts, antiques. On the rocky steep banks, there are cafes and home restaurants where you can eat deliciously.

The can end the excursion with a visit to the Ropotamo Reserve and a boat trip along the river. The valley of the river Ropotamo is famous for its unique untouched flora and fauna. You can see turtles, pelicans, and herons.

3. Excursion to Veliko Tarnovo
Veliko Tarnovo is the ancient capital of Bulgaria, one of the most colorful and visited cities in the country. We advise you to go to Veliko Tarnovo. Practically in any city or resort village on the Bulgarian coast, you can buy this excursion. You can also go to Veliko Tarnovo on your own.

The old part of the city has well-survived houses that represent the XIX – early XX centuries, they are located in the amphitheater above the precipice, the Yantra River flows deep below. City architectural monuments will not leave anyone indifferent. Here lives the soul of the Bulgarian people and only here you can find real Bulgaria. You will see the fortress Tsarevets, the Patriarchal Cathedral, admire the fantastic views of the city from the fortress, stroll through the narrow stone streets of Turnovo. You can also visit museums: the National Revival, and the Art Museum. Most of the organized excursions end with a visit to the village of Arbanassi or ethnographic complex Etara, where you are introduced to the rural life of the Bulgarians and local cuisine. A trip to Veliko Tarnovo will allow you to get to know Bulgaria from the inside, which can hardly be trully don at the resorts of the Black Sea coast.
